“(Name) are you okay? You haven’t even touched your lunch?” Jeongmin asked.
I slowly turned to her. Then back to my food.
“I’m not hungry.”
“….”
“(Name) please. Just…why can’t we go back to being like we were before?”
Because I’m someone completely different
“Im sorry…”
I wasn’t mad at Jeongmin, I wasn’t even mad at her friends. I was mad at myself.
I knew the future but I still couldn’t stop that scene from happening. In fact I made it worse.
Junyeon broke her arm that day. When she was
Pushed, her arm took most of her fall causing it the snap from the pressure. I didn’t even know until she came back the next day with a cast.
Everytime I try to talk to her my “friends” stop me before I can. And Jeongmin doesn’t even say anything.
The only thing I can do right now is make sure Junyeon doesn’t get bullied while we’re apart.
I was think of talking to her after lunch but Jeongmin wasn’t giving me any space.
“(Name) can I come over to your house like I use to. Maybe we could play some video games!” The raven haired girl asked. She had a hopeful look on her face and I couldn’t help but say yes.
“Great! It’s gonna be just us. Just like the old times.” She smiled.
It was weird how similar Her and Junyeon acted but I didn’t think about it much.
The rest of school went by with me basically being mute. I only talked to Jeongmin and only when she talked first. I completely ignored our other friends. She seemed happy with this for some reason. A bright smile showed up on her face whenever I ignored anyone but her.
“Is your brother coming to pick you up today?”
Jeongmin asked as we walked out the classroom together.
I shook my head no and she smiled.
“Nice! More fun for us.” She giggled.
I didn’t respond.
When we got outside I immediately felt better.
Even though it was hot out, with the sun beaming down at us. The constant cool breeze cancelled it out. Making today the perfect day.
Being in the limbo place without any light made me appreciate it a whole lot more.
I could feel a pair of eyes on me but I didn’t even care. My mood improved tenfold and I even had a small smile to show it.
“You must really like the sun huh (name)?”
“Yea, it makes me happy i guess.” I responded.
The conversation stopped there and we walked in comfortable silence down the sidewalk.
It was nice while it lasted…
“(Name) watch out!”
It was to late and by the time I even calculated my thoughts someone had slammed into me, knocking us both onto the concrete below.
“Ow Ow Ow! Mother fuc”-
“My bad! I didn’t see you. Your really damn short.”
The guy took his time getting off of me and I winced at the heavyweight. I could already feel the bruise forming. Adding on to all the other bruises littered across my arms and wrist from being grabbed all the time.
“Yea your fine.” I sighed
The boy offered me his hand and I took it.
Looking up at him he had shiny black hair and sparkling gray eyes. Along with clear, spotless porcelain skin. And cute pink lips. He’s was very handsome, almost painfully so. Also very familiar…
“Pretty…”
His eyes widened before a cocky smirk formed on his face. “I know right!” He laughed.
“Nvm” I mumbled.
He laughed again before saying, “what’s your name shortie?”
“Why should she tell you?” I completely forgot Jeongmin was there. She stepped in front of me, blocking the fine man from view.
“Is she your girlfriend or something.” The guy asked Jeongmin.
Jeongmin blushed brightly but didn’t answer.
“Call me (Name),” I said. Behind me I could hear Jeongmin gasp.
“Well (name) you can call me Si Yoon. I can tell we’ll be great friends.” He smiled down at me.
Wait- SI YOON?!
Without thinking I shoved my friend out the way and walked up to Si Yoon with a wide smile on my face.
It’s him!
I could help him!
I could change his painful future!
“Numbers! Let’s exchange numbers!”
I whipped my phone out and thrusted it right in front of his face. I could bearly suppress my glee.
He looked shocked at my sudden change in attitude but quickly disguised it with a cocky smirk.
He grabbed my phone and typed in his number. I took this time to admire his face.
Now that I’m comparing him now to the one I know best he really doesn’t look that different. He’s probably in middle school right now….
I could be his friend until him and Jeongmin get together so he won’t have to go through everything alone. It’s a win-win.
“Here ya go. I even changed my name for ya!” Si Yoon smiled.
I look down at my phone.

“Umm cool?” I still don’t completely understand Korean culture so him calling himself my oppa wasn’t that deep to me. But jeongmin was beside me having a mini panic attack.
“Well I gotta head home now. This has been fun!” He yelled before continuing his run down the sidewalk.
I watched him disappear, my heart feeling a little lighter.
“Cmon (name). Didn’t your parents ever teach you about stranger danger.” Jeongmin scolded me.

She stared at me, completely flabbergasted.
“Whatever, let’s just go. That guy was so shameless calling himself your Oppa after just now taking to you? He’s definitely a pervert!”
I didn’t respond, because if I woulda opened my mouth the only thing I would’ve done is defend him. And that would be suspicious considering I just now met him.
We continue to walk to my house in awkward silence. I could tell she was mad at me. But she didn’t know I was helping someone near and dear to her. Once she does I bet she’ll be happy……
